Pat Watson

Pat Watson is from South Roscommon. Throughout his life he has written poetry and prose that he would recite on appropriate occasions and that were often published in newspapers, books and even broadcast on Radio Eireann. He was a founder member of The Irish Farmers Association (IFA) in 1955 and was asked to produce a short book about their activities in county Roscommon over its first fifty years. "Roscommon NFA / IFA 1955 - 2005. Collected Recollections" was launched in the presence of six hundred farmers and with great fanfare in the Hudson Bay Hotel in 2005.

After retiring Pat had a regular slot on Shannonside Radio for a number of years reading his stories and poems on air. Many people requested copies of what they heard so he published his second book, "Original Irish Stories - Sixty Lyrical Yarns" in 2006. This book has been sold throughout the world and has had many favourable reviews. Copies are still available from the author at patwatson@myirishstories.com
